Since the age of 15, I've been writing music, starting bands, and playing shows. I've recorded EPs as a lead guitarist, produced songs for other musicians, and worked as a session musician. Recently, I've been focusing on solo instrumental music, but there's nothing I love more than playing shows with my best friends.
Below are some of my most notable projects:
Formed with friends from my high school as the pandemic lockdown began to ease, Catalina rode the resurgence of Springfield, Missouri's indie scene in 2021. Playing house shows, the legendary Outland Ballroom, and other venues around town, we gained a cult following among MSU students and DIY music scene. We recorded several singles and en EP before eventually dissolving as I returned back to school. I played lead guitar, produced, and helped manage releases for the band.
Founded on the basis of a mutual love of The Strokes and good times, Bidgood tore through Brown University's music scene with a dearth of technical training (compared to the seasoned jazz musicians we called friends) but an excess of passion. Although we never recorded a major release, we wrote original music that ranged from punk to indie pop. Of our music, I have only this single, written and produced by me, and these demos, published by Homer.
From twinkly folk to heavy rock, subtle slide guitar to in-your-face riffing, I've enjoyed playing in bands that have spanned genres, vibes, and levels of ambition. For me, music is the most immediate form of expression I know and I love sharing it with others in any form.
